Fourth International Workshop of ELECMI

On October 27th and 28th, the 4th ELECMI international workshop will be held at the University of Barcelona

This edition is organized by the CCiTUB together with the rest of the nodes of the ICTS ELECMI the National Center for Electron Microscopy (CNME) of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, the Advanced Microscopy Laboratory (LMA) of the Universidad de Zaragoza and the Electron Microscopy Division (DME) of the Universidad de Cádiz, and has the collaboration of the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (IN2) of the Universitat de Barcelona and the Microscopy Society of Spain (SME).

The workshop, aimed at researchers interested in transmission microscopy techniques and other related analytical techniques, will include the participation of experts and researchers who work at the forefront of technical and methodological developments in the field.

Throughout the two days of the event, which will take place in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Physics, the different experts will present their latest results which illustrate the potential of these techniques, both for the characterization of materials and biological samples. The complete program can be consulted here.

Registration for the workshop is open, it is free and registrations will be accepted until October 10th..

Integrated Infrastructure for Electron Microscopy of Materials (ICTS ELECMI)

The Electron Microscopy Applied to Materials Laboratory (UMEAP) of the CCiTUB is a node of ELECMI, Integrated Materials Electron Microscopy Infrastructure, which is an ICTS included in the Map of Singular Scientific and Technical Infrastructures (ICTS) in Spain

It has highly specialized personnel in transmission electron microscopy characterization and related analytical techniques (EELS and EDXS spectroscopy), as well as in advanced data processing and simulation. It also has beam precession systems (for 3D electron diffraction, electron crystallography, recognition of crystalline phases, and orientation and tension maps) and specific sample holders for in situ microscopy and electron tomography.

Access to these services is made by regulated open competitive accessthrough an external scientific committee with a transparent and independent evaluation process
