Nanoscience and nanotechnology Festival

During the week of the 4th of April, the CCiTUB hosted the first Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Festival, led by Dr. Jordi Díaz, head of technology at Tècniques nanoBio (AFM, STM).

Nanotech and nanoscience were disclosed throughout the workshop by the means of exhibits, seminars and workrooms in Barcelona, Zaragoza, San Sebastian and Bellaterra.

In Barcelona, activities were performed in three different venues such as Palau Centelles, Palau Macaya and Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona.

The Meeting attracted a high participation rate in every location, being high school students the largest group of audience.

Some science related groups as Big Van Science, Científicos sobre ruedas and Mr. Jordi Mainat, science writer and author of the book "Optimistic science", joined the closing ceremony.

Linked to the abovementioned festival, the next 6th of May the CCiTUB will host a high school student oriented open house, during which the students will be able to visit the SEM, TEM and AFM technologies.
