Publication of the article "Hydrogen Bond Polarization Overcomes Unfavorable Packing in the Most Stable High Z′ Polymorph of Pterostilbene"

PhD. Rafael Prohens, head of the Polymorphism and Calorimetry Technology of the CCiTUB and Mr. Rafa Barba (Polymorphism), have published the article "Hydrogen Bond Polarization Overcomes Unfavorable Packing in the Most Stable High Z′ Polymorph of Pterostilbene" in the journal Crystal Growth & Design. Note that these articles are the result of an agreement between CCiTUB and the company CIRCE.

The summary of the article is:

"The polymorphic landscape of the nutraceutical pterostilbene has been analyzed by solving the crystal structure of forms II and III from PXRD data. Polarization effects in the previously know form I crystal structure have been observed and the structural features of the most stable high Z′ polymorph have been discussed in relation to the relative stability between the polymorphs of this important natural product"
