New spaces for the CCiTUB in the Medicine Campus

Past September 5th, the new facilities of the Advanced Optical Microscopy Technology, placed in the Medicine Campus (Casanova street) were inaugurated. The event was included within the inauguration of the Campus UB-Clínic of the Institut de Recerca Josep Carreras, and attended the rector of the UB, Dídac Ramírez; the vice-rector of Research, Innovation and Transfer of the UB, Dr. Jordi Alberch; the Mayor of Barcelona, ​​Xavier Trias; Secretary for Universities and Research of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Antoni Castellà; General Director of Planning and Health Research of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Carles Constante, and Josep Carreras, president of the Fundació Josep Carreras contra la Leucèmia and the Fundació Institut de Recerca contra la Leucèmia Josep Carreras (IJC).

These new facilities are located, as before, on the 5th floor of the Faculty of Medicine - Clinic Campus and represent a great improvement in space, more rooms for microscopes, a general laboratory, a cell cultures laboratory and access to meeting rooms. More space to receive formation groups (students, schools, masters courses) is also available, as well as new sample preparation facilities.

Furthermore, the old spaces occupied by the Advanced Optical Microscopy Technology are now part of Proteomics Technology, also located on the 5th floor of the Faculty, which has increased its spaces.
