The CCiTUB in collaboration with the Catalonia Institute for Energy Research (IREC) published an article on the structural and vibrational properties of Sb2S3. Combining Raman spectroscopy with X-Ray diffraction with Rietveld refinement, completed with lattice dynamics investigations reveal important insights into the structural and vibrational characteristics of the material. A methodology was also proposed for the identification of the crystallographic orientation of the Sb2S3 ribbons, based on the calculated atomic displacements and the analysis of the Raman tensors. This study also showed that Raman micro-spectroscopy can be utilized as a rapid non-destructive and non-invasive technique for assessing the crystallographic orientation and defects in Sb2S3 thin films with a high lateral resolution.
The heads of the Raman and DRX Units of the CCiTUB, PhD. T. Jawhari and PhD. X. Alcobé, have participated in the article that has been published in the Cell Press iScience journal in open access format.
