NanoEduca 2024-2025: Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Training

 Objectives

The NanoEduca course is a training course on nanoscience and nanotechnology aimed at Secondary School and "Batxillerat" teachers, mainly in the STEM areas: science, technology and mathematics. The course is complemented by a Science Competition in which the students involved can present the work developed in the classroom. The requiremennts and regulations for participation in the competition will be announced during the training sessions.

Once the training has been completed, the teachers and their students will have the opportunity to participate in the NanoEduca Science Competition.


 Dates

The course will consist of 3 sessions, either in-person or online with a total of 20 hours to be certified (13h of non-face-to-face work).
  • Session 1: Introduction to Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (29th of October 2024, from 17:30 to 19:30 online).

  • Session 2: Didactic and communicative tools: NanoEduca teaching guide; how to use the nanokit; NANOEDUCA resources and virtual NANOEDUCA (12th of November 2024, from 16:30 to 20:00. In-person Session at ICN2).

  • Session 3: Resolution of doubts. Presentation of the collaborative work developed and final exercise (26th of November 2024, from 18:30 to 19:30 online).

  • NanoEduca Final Day: Closing and Awards Ceremony(April 1, 2025, at the Auditorium of the University of Barcelona)

The closing and awards ceremony will take place on April 1, 2025, at the Auditorium of the University of Barcelona.

  • 9:00h:   Welcoming (Maria Feliu Torruella, Vice-rector for Doctoral Studies,
         Trainee Research Staff, Talent Attraction and Dissemination)
  • 9:15h:   Round table: NANOEDUCA stories
  • 10:00h: Round table: Why study nanotechnology?
  • 10:45h: Reminiscences of the teachers who have done the most in the classroom
  • 11:00h: Break
  • 11:20h: Awards Ceremony
  • 12:15h: Closure

 Location

The course will be held in a hybrid format: part of the sessions will be online and part of them at the Institut Català de Nanociència i Nanotecnologia (INC2).
