25.06.2026Implementation of new software for the management of aquatic research models
The In Vivo Experimentation Unit of the Scientific and Technological Centers of the University of Barcelona (CCiTUB) has launched the AniBio Aquatic software, a specialized solution for managing research with aquatic animal models.
This system has been specifically designed to facilitate the management of research activities and the recording of data generated in centers that work with aquatic organisms, contributing to improving the efficiency and quality of scientific processes.
The implementation of this software allows researchers to have a tool that:
- Centralizes information related to animals, batches, and experimental procedures.
- Ensures complete traceability of data throughout the entire research cycle.
- Facilitates the structured recording of experiments and associated activities.
- Enables the monitoring of key parameters, such as the environmental conditions of aquatic systems.
- Improves coordination between researchers and technical staff.
In addition, the system helps reinforce compliance with regulatory and ethical requirements applicable to research with animal models, while optimizing the daily management of facilities and reducing the time dedicated to administrative tasks.
The new software is already operational, and access to the application is managed by the In Vivo Experimentation Unit of the Diagonal Campus.
The incorporation of AniBio Aquatic is part of the CCiTUB’s strategy for digitalization and continuous improvement and enables progress toward more efficient, secure, and transparent management of scientific information.
