On May 9, the CosmoCaixa Science Museum hosted the X Edition of the 10alamenos9-Barcelona festival, an event for scientific dissemination with the aim of bringing society closer to the nano world.
The opening of the day, organized by the CCiTUB, was attended by the director of CosmoCaixa, Valentí Farràs, the director of the CCiTUB, Juan Fran Sangüesa and the representative of BASF, Daniela Brunsó.
This year's edition has meant the consolidation of a decade of the festival promoting the awareness of general knowledge about nanoscience and nanotechnology, regardless of age or previous knowledge.
In this sense, the activities have been distributed in two different sessions, one in the morning aimed at school audiences and one in the afternoon open to the general public.
Through talks and workshops, more than a hundred students from the INS Estatut, the Virolai School, the Ítaca Institute and the INS Agustí Serra i Fontanet have learned about the nano world in a fun and exciting way, with the help of specialists from the University of Barcelona and other leading centers in the world of research.
In the afternoon session, the festival continued with scientific workshops, nanotalks and the Jazz concert "El Viatge de l’Àtom".
After ten years since its first edition, the 10alamenos9 festival continues to be a unique opportunity to discover nanoscience and nanotechnology, as well as to meet the people who work there and make research and dissemination possible.
