New ICP-OES spectrometer in the CCiTUB

The Metal Analysis Technology of the CCiTUB acquired this December a new Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry instrument (ICP-OES). This new optical spectrometer is the model "Optima 8300" of the "Perkin Elmer" brand and complements the other equipment of the unit. One of its most remarkable characteristics is the possibility of radial or/and axial observation of plasma and the availability of analytic lines for all the spectrum, even for the visible zone of elements such as Na and K, providing a notable increase in sensibility when it is necessary.

This new equipment can be used with the rest of the atomic spectroscopy equipment in a complementary way (ICP-OES, ICP-MS, FRX and AAS). Interested users can access to the new spectrometer contacting the technicians of the Metal Analysis Technology.
