The CCiTUB will participate in the 13th Human Proteome Organization World Congress

Next October, between 5th and 8th, will take place in Madrid the 13th Human Proteome Organization (HUPO) World Congress. International experts will gather to discuss about the most recent advances in proteomics and its present and future applications.

Proteomics is a discipline with a great potential. It allows to analyze biological systems with unprecedented efficacy to generate new concepts in biology, identify new diagnostic and therapeutic targets and study drug effects in cell biology. The challenge of understanding proteomes in the context of cell biology requires a multidisciplinary effort. The objective of the congress is to create an ideal environment to discuss all these aspects generating new ideas and establishing productive scientific interactions.

Doctor Josep Maria Estanyol, responsible of the Proteomics Technology of the CCTiUB, together with other experts will present two posters: : "A proteomic analysis of p27(Kip1)-binding proteins reveals a role of this protein on the regulation of transcription through its interaction with RNA polymerase II" and " Proteomic analysis of the sperm cell: towards the complete sperm cell proteome and identification of proteins involved in male infertility".
