Dr. Xavier Alcobé and the technician Maria Barba from the X-Ray Diffraction Tecnology participate in the XIII School on the Rietveld method taking place in Castellón from 1 to 4 of July. Dr. Xavier Alcobé gives the lectures "Refinement strategies and detailed description of the profile" and "Multiphasic Rietveld analysis (quantitative and extraction of intensities in the presence of more than one phase)" as well as collaborates in the coordination of all practical sessions. The technician Maria Barba also attends to the course.
Quantitative phase analysis by the Rietveld method is particularly important today, being used among others, in the resolution of environmental problems, the analysis of minerals and in the petrochemical industry. | |
