22.10.2025CCiTUB, over 25 years registered in the Catalonia Agro-Food Laboratories Registry
CCiTUB has been re-certified by the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food of the Government of Catalonia as a laboratory registered in the Catalonia Agro-Food Laboratories Registry. This registration certifies that the center meets the technical and legal requirements to offer agro-food analysis services to third parties, as a recognized laboratory.
Currently, CCiTUB is authorized to carry out analyses in more than 18 of the 87 groups of recognized analytical specialties, including the determination of metals at trace levels, the analysis of pesticide residues, the study of water, soil and fertilizers, the control of plant protection products, isotopic analysis, the assessment of wastewater, etc. The center holds this certification since 1995, now 30 years ago.
Agro-Food Registry
According to current regulations, any laboratory offering analysis services related to the agro-food sector to third parties must:
- Be registered as a recognized or accredited laboratory (ISO 17025)
- Meet technical and legal requirements, including participation in intercomparison programs and having adequate equipment.
- Ensure the traceability and quality of analytical results.
A non-registered laboratory could perform trace metal analyses in other areas (such as pharmaceutical, environmental, or industrial), but not in the agro-food context or for third parties, if it does not comply with the specific regulations of the registry.
