The CCiTUB integrates into the NFFA platform

The University of Barcelona, through the CCiTUB, has integrated into the NFFA platform ('Nanoscience Foundries and Fine Analysis'), a consortium of European infrastructures in the field of nanotechnologies, funded by the European Union's H2020 program.

The NFFA aims to provide researchers with the capability to address complex challenges in nanoscience, which cannot be solved by a single research infrastructure, offering combined access to resources from internationally competitive support and research centers.

The CCiTUB integrates XPS, Microprobe, STEM, CLEM, and EPR-ENDOR resources into the platform, which will increase synergies and collaborations in nanoscience and nano-microtechnology projects between the University of Barcelona and the more than 20 member entities.

Through the NFFA, researchers worldwide have the opportunity to conduct projects at other European facilities within this platform and obtain support and access to services at free access. Researchers interested in applying for the services available at the NFFA can submit an application for the 11th call until March 1st.

The NFFA

NFFA-Europe is an open access platform to research infrastructures formed by an international consortium of partners, including universities, research centers, institutes, and companies, aiming to provide advanced resources and services in the field of nanoscience and nano-microtechnology. With over 180 available techniques, including synthesis, growth, and manipulation of nanostructures, as well as precise analysis, theory, and simulation, researchers accessing NFFA-Europe facilities can control and design material properties from the nano to macro scale.

Thanks to the support of the European Union, NFFA-Europe is developing a new pilot model of sustainable research, based on the optimal integration of infrastructure services, interoperability in data production and exploitation, the training of a new generation of researchers, and long-term sustainability through best practices and investment from consortium members in Horizon Europe programs.
