10.11.2021The CCiTUB participate in “Setmana de la Ciència 2021”
The 26th edition of “Setmana de la Ciència” will take place between 12 and 21 November, an initiative coordinated by the Fundació Catalana per a la Recerca i la Innovació (FCRI) which has the support of numerous institutions and organizations in the fields of research, science and technology.
As part of “Setmana de la Ciència”, activities are organized to disseminate science, this year focused on sustainability, and where the CCiTUB will participate with several proposals that are detailed below:
Exhibition: "Món nano: l'increïble món dels insectes".[+]
From 12 to 19 of november. 10 to 14h and de 16 to 20h.Centre Cívic Pere Quart.
"In this exhibition, tiny structures that we cannot see with the naked eye can be seen. In the exhibition, there are images at high magnification of characteristic parts of the chosen insects, which are sometimes common to all of them. Thus, we can observe the ommatidia that make up the eyes, the hairs of some wings or the protuberances of others, or the interior of a sectioned antenna of a cuckoo bee. In addition, in the exhibition there are high-magnification images of everyday things, such as glitter, a grain of sea sand or a person's hair. In them we observe details that, without this microscopic vision, go unnoticed."
Exhibition: "Benvinguts al nanomón.[+]
From 11th of november to 2th of december. Centre Cultural Sant Feliu.
“Contempla imatges espectaculars obtingudes mitjançant els microscopis d’alta tecnologia habituals en el món de la nanotecnologia, com el microscopi de forces atòmiques, el microscopi electrònic i el microscopi d’efecte túnel. L’objectiu d’aquesta mostra és divulgar la nanociència d’una manera visual i accessible per a tots els públics.
És una selecció de les imatges finalistes del concurs internacional SPMAGE (anys 2007 i 2009) organitzat per investigadors de la Universitat Autònoma de Madrid (UAM) i de l ’Institut de Ciència de Materials de Madrid (ICMM) pertanyent al Consell Superior d’Investigacions Científiques (CSIC). La mostra ens ha estat cedida pel Consell Superior d’Investigacions Científiques (CSIC) i per els Centres Científics i Tecnològics de la Universitat de Barcelona (CCiTUB).”
Conference: "Microscòpies SPM: 40 anys revelant el món invisible".[+]
18th of november at 19h. Centre Cívic Pere Quart.
“Al 1981, als laboratoris IBM de Zuric es va poder veure la primera imatge d’àtoms gràcies a un microscopi. Quaranta anys després, les microscòpies STM i les seves germanes petites, les microscòpies AFM, han revolucionat el món de les nanotecnologies. Un dels primers països on es va treballar amb aquestes microscòpies va ser Espanya, gràcies a un dels seus descobridors, H. Rorher.
A l’entrevista, explicarem el viatge ple d’anècdotes de Rorher a Espanya, gràcies a un investigador que el va conèixer de primera mà, Pedro Serena. També explorarem el passat, present i futur de les microscòpies.”
