08.04.2021Dr. Juan Fran Sangüesa, new Director of the Scientific and Technological Centers of the UB
Last Tuesday April 6th, Vice-rector for Research, Dr. Jordi García, Vice-rector for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Transfer, Dr. M. Segarra, Vice-Rector for Doctoral Studies, Dra. M. Feliu, Director of Research Support, Mr. X. Meneses and Responsible of the Administration and Management of the CCiTUB, Mrs. Eva Jané, reunited with the staff of the CCiTUB, introduced Dr. Juan Fran Sangüesa as new Director of the CCiTUB.
Vice-Rectors welcomed the new Director expressing their willingness to work together to strengthen and improve the CCiTUB and they also reaffirmed their commitment to visit the Centers soon. They also said that this is the beginning of a new and enriching stage for the CCiTUB and highlighted the collaborative role of the new Director with the Responsible of the Administration and Management of the CCiTUB, Mrs. Eva Jané.
(INSA) with a doctorate on Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Montpelier, has a long experience on research and innovation management, acquired in institutions such as the Institute of Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC), the Agency for Enterprise Competitiveness (ACCIÓ) and the UAB Research Park , where he led the Unit of Innovation Projects over the last seven years.
In his presentation, the new Director expressed his desire to work together with all the agents of the University of Barcelona to make the Centers a reference in their environment and announced that he would start a round of visits to the different Units in order to know the vision of all staff regarding the future challenges that will have to be faced within each area. The Director also made clear his interest in knowing the opinion of CCiTUB users in order to be able to optimally meet the needs of researchers.
