16.09.2020ELECMI, Electron Microscopy ICTS reinforces its scientific presence with a new image and website
The ELECMI ICTS renews its image and website elecmi.es by launching a new platform to request the use of equipment that belong to the last analysis and characterization of material generation.
Among the principal novelties, it is highlighted the ease of accessing to request equipment and the prominence of the multimedia content. The granted requests may be checked in the corresponding section "Access granted", guaranteeing total transparency and confidentiality. Other novelties are the featured section dedicated to training courses offered and the bigger integration with social media, that will allow users to be aware of the ICTS news.
Currently compound by four Spanish research centers, ELECMI makes available the access to their equipment to researchers and to the business world. The centers that integrates this ICTS are: the CNME (National Center for Electronic Microscopy) of the Complutense University of Madrid; the LMA (Laboratory for Advanced Microscopies) of the University of Zaragoza; the DME (Division of Electronic Microscopy) of the University of Cádiz and the UMEAP (Unit of Electronic Microscopy Applied to Materials) of the University of Barcelona.
The ICTS distinction awarded by Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad in 2014, renewed in 2018 and guaranteed today by Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación, recognizes the singularity and unicity of the equipment and techniques available in ELECMI. The broad set of equipment and techniques in Electron Microscopy and Local Probe, dedicated to the observation, analysis and characterization of materials in atomic and molecular scale, include:
High-resolution transmission electron microscopy – HR-TEM.
Scanning Electron Microscope – SEM.
Dual-beam microscope of electrons and ions - DUAL BEAM.
Through their services is possible to approach the characterization of complex inorganic and organic materials, both at image level as well as analytical, including sample preparation, structural analysis, image and data processing with computational methods. The application may cover different fields such as biomedicine, catalysis, intelligent materials, transportation, energy, polymers manufacturing, food science or communication, among others.
ELECMI offers open competitive access to singular equipment to researchers both in public and private centers as well as to enterprises. The request, open at national and international level, it is regulated by an external scientific committee by a transparent and independent evaluation process. The access to the rest of the equipment, is free and direct via link to a specific form. Researchers, universities, research centers and industry may explore the equipment offer in the Infrastructure section in the website.
Launching the new website, ELECMI reinforces its commitment to technology and innovation transfer, consolidating their presence in the European scientific and worldwide scene.
