Yesterday took place in the CCiTUB the first edition of the Kids Day, an activity planned so that the children of the workers of the Centers know closely the place of work of their parents. On this day, more than 30 children aged between 5 and 16 have attended different workshops according to their ages.
Organized by the CiTUB commission for Equality ans Social Action, the Kids Day has given children the opportunity to experiment and play with science in the hands of the Centers' outreach team. For some of them, this has been their first contact with a chemical laboratory, a microscope or with liquid nitrogen, for example. The assistants have been able to visit different laboratories, co-creation of scientific proposals, virtual reality and an escape room.
Also, within the activities of the Kids Day, we had the "Teatre Ciència Divertida: Nano màgic", a show by the Javier Villena Theater Company where, in a fun way, the children have been able to explore the atomic world and discover amazing things and facts.
Later, and also in the Dolors Aleu room of the PCB, the final part of the visit took place, in which the director of the CCiTUB, Dr. Seoane, explained to the children what is done in the Scientific Centers by means of a presentation in virtual reality, with which the day ended.
Finally, father and children have been able to enjoy a refreshing swim in the pool of the sports service of the University of Barcelona.
We hope to repeat it next year.
