Recently, at the 'Conference on Modern Oil Paints' held at the RijksMuseum in Amsterdam, Dr. Anna Vila, technician of Transfer and National and International Relations of the Scientific and Technological Centers of the University of Barcelona (CCiTUB), has presented the work titled 'PICASSO 1917. Failure mechanisms (in the paint layers of four artworks)'. ProMESA project The work, based on the study of the degradation mechanisms in four paintings by Picasso, is included within the framework of the ProMESA project: 'Study of mechanical and dimensional properties of commercial painting. Influence in the mechanisms of physical-chemical degradation of modern and contemporary pictorial work '. In this project, led by the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) and funded by the Spanish Ministry of Economy, also participate the CCiTUB, the Picasso Museum in Barcelona, IFAC-CNR in Florence, UCa'Foscari University of Venice, Queen's University and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation. |
