The seminar main subject was the necessity of including social and ethical aspects in the divulgation of nanotechnologies.

Previously, Dr. Jordi Diaz, responsible of the Nano-SPM Technology of CCiTUB and Nanodivulga UB and coordinator of the seminar, participated in the following activities in Zacatecas:

Thesis Committee of Miguel Garcia Guerrero, "Divulgación de nanotecnologías en España, Estados Unidos y México: cómo se involucra a la sociedad en la nueva ola científico-tecnológica", about nanodivulgation.

Workshop of Introduction to nanotechnology for children between 5 and 10 years in the Science Museum of Zacatecas organized by the Quark Group, organization with a history of 15 years performing activities of introduction to science for children.

Participation and coordination of the II International Seminar "Diálogos sobre nanotecnologías", jointly organized by the University of Barcelona, Uax, and COCyT of Zacatecas, and participation in the First National Symposium of Recreational Science.

Seminar about nanodivulgation activities in Spain: "Hacia la creación de una red nacional". Main Spanish projects of nanodivulgation were explained in the seminar, highlighting the "Festival 10alamenos9" coordinated by CCiTUB.

Seminar about applications of nanotechnology, where Dr. Diaz showed the present and future applications of nanotechnology in the main industrial sectors, specially at medicine, electronics, feeding and energy.

Roundtable in nanotechnology, where was presented Nanodivulga UB (history, activities, mission, etc.) and the Science Pumita project, where its coordinator Dr. Noboru Takeuchi of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in Baja California promotes technological and scientific dissemination among indigenous children.

Moderator of the roundtable "nanoforo". This roundtable was about the views of the different actors involved in nanotechnology marketing. Members of the UNAM, University of Zacatecas and the National Chamber of Industry (CANACINTRA) were also presents in the roundtable.

On 29 Setember, the third edition of NanoEduca will be held at CCiTUB. Nanoeduca aims to introduce to the secondary school and high school students the foundations of nanotechnology and create a network of knowledge between professional researchers and teachers.
